Madison College’s TelePresence classrooms transmit life-size, high-definition images, and audio to other Madison College campuses to provide real-time interaction between students and the instructor. Students have found the classroom experience to be highly rewarding and interactive allowing collaboration with Madison College students at various campus locations.

• Doors to the classroom will automatically open 10-minutes prior to the start of class.
• Students will be required to use the Madison College email system – secure a Madison College user name and password prior to coming to the first class. Contact the student help desk at 608-243-4444 for assistance or contact your campus librarian. Student-help@madisoncollege.edu
• Students will need a fundamental knowledge of Windows’ file management to access handouts and submit assignments.
• Students will be using Blackboard, an online learning management software system, to support their interaction between the instructor and other students within the course. Instruction will be provided for this during class.

This online class requires the completion of a brief orientation in Blackboard. Copy and paste the following URL into your web browser for instructions: http://madisoncollege.edu/orientation-online-accelerated-learning. Upon completion of the orientation and assessment you will immediately be able to register for this class.

1. On average, online students should expect to budget around 3 hours of work time every week for a 1 credit online course.

2. Go to the Blackboard site, https://blackboard.madisoncollege.edu/, and ensure you can log in (using your Madison College username and password). Your online course will be available approximately one week before the start of the class and will contain further information. Login to the course on or before the first day; failure to do so may jeopardize continued enrollment in the class (see Madison College’s attendance policy, http://madisoncollege.edu/classroom-attendance). If you are experiencing trouble with Blackboard please contact the Student Help Desk at (608)243-4444.

3. Students MUST use their Madison College email account. Please check your email at least one week prior to the start of the class. You can activate your account here: http://madisoncollege.edu/email

4. Students have until the day before the class starts to register. Students must obtain permission from the instructor to register after this point. Students will have until the “last date to enroll” to use the permission granted from the instructor.

This class is designated as hybrid because it will meet in class as well as online. Please sign into Blackboard prior to the start date to read instructions to be prepared for the first day of class. An understanding of Blackboard is a necessity. Access to a computer along with adequate computer knowledge and skills are needed to do the online course work.
