This course provides learners with strategies to develop skills necessary to make satisfying career development decisions. Learners will have an opportunity to participate in self-awareness activities and standardized assessments that focus on the areas of personality, interests, skills, and values. In addition, this course will explore researching career paths, market research, planning, goal setting and decision making. Students will leave with a better understanding of themselves, career paths, and our current job market.

ONLINE COURSE PROCEDURES
(complete at least two weeks prior to class start date)
1) Students are required to use their MATC student email account. Set up your Inside MATC account if you have not already done so. From the MATC home page (madisoncollege.edu) click on the A-Z Index and Account Activation (student). Use Initial Login/Reset Password link the first time you login. (The Blackboard link is also available through Inside MATC.)
2) Be sure to have your textbook at the start of the class. Purchase textbook either online or in person at MATC Truax Campus bookstore http://www.matcbookstore.com/. If ordering online, select the term and then the third, fourth and fifth digits of the catalog number for the department. Then select the course using the sixth, seventh and eighth digits of the catalog number. This brings up a list of class section numbers along with instructor name. Select the appropriate class number to continue with the purchasing process. Allow approximately 10 days to receive the textbook when ordering online. The website should be updated for summer and fall semesters by April 1.
3) Purchase appropriate software if needed. Some of the software for Business Technology courses can be purchased at a reduced cost from the Wisconsin Integrated Software Catalog (WISC) website, wiscsoftware.wisc.edu. The registration information from MATC must first be downloaded to the WISC website. This may take up to a week after you are registered.
4) Go to the Blackboard web page and make sure you can log in. Courses may not be available until the start date. A list of Business Technology instructor email addresses can be found at http://madisoncollege.edu/plus/business-technology/faculty. Contact the instructor regarding any course questions.
