This accelerated class requires the completion of a brief orientation in Blackboard. Copy and paste the following URL into your web browser for instructions: http://madisoncollege.edu/orientation-online-accelerated-learning. Upon completion of the orientation and assessment you will immediately be able to register for this class.

This course is offered in an accelerated format; coursework will be covered in approximately half the normal time. There are greater out of classroom expectations of students in accelerated courses. These classes are meant to accommodate the returning adult student with prior work experience.

It is essential that you purchase your textbook prior to the first day of class. There will likely be assignments due the first night of class. If there is an assignment it will be posted in the class Blackboard site.

Accelerated courses are taught using Blackboard to communicate assignments, submit assignments, work on projects, etc. Before the class starts, log in to Blackboard (using your Madison College username and password) and review the site for further information and course expectations. Your course will be available approximately one week before the start of the class.

Students have until the day before the class starts to register. Students must obtain permission from the instructor to register after this point. Students will have until the “last date to enroll” to use the permission granted from the instructor.

Hybrid courses combine the flexibility of online learning with in-class meetings. Because hybrid learning moves a significant part of the course learning online, in-class time is reduced. Online expectations might include such things as online discussions, small group work, self-testing exercises, and audio or video lectures. To be successful in a Hybrid course, you should . . .
1. Be highly motivated, self-disciplined, and technologically-literate.
2. Plan for increased online activity as you add online course learning to the already expected outside homework requirements
3. Go to the Blackboard site, https://blackboard.madisoncollege.edu/, and ensure you can log in (using your Madison College username and password). If you are experiencing trouble with Blackboard please contact the Student Help Desk at (608)243-4444.
4. Activate your Madison College email account (http://madisoncollege.edu/email) and check it at least one week prior to the start of the class.
